IPhone & up sprocket compatibility

I was going to buy my daughter a sprocket for Christmas but the lady in Currys said there was a problem with the iPhone ios11update and the sprocket compatibility. Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved. I don't want to waste my money and if it's doesn't work would refunds be allowed?
